Virtual Event – Political Discernment with the Jesuit Forum: Climate Action and Politics
For the Love of Creation’s annual ‘Give it up for the Earth!’ Lenten campaign is a national faith-in-action initiative that seeks to raise awareness about the climate crisis with the intention of helping mobilize Canadians to reduce personal and household greenhouse gas emissions, engage in acts of solidarity, and collect signatures as a demonstration of support for increased federal climate action.
Addressing the climate crisis in a just and equitable way means prioritizing Indigenous autonomy and considering the needs of communities who have been historically marginalized and are particularly vulnerable to the climate crisis.
CPJ’s Climate Justice Policy Analyst, Maryo Wahba, joined the Jesuit Forum to explore more in depth the purpose of the ‘Give it up for the Earth’ campaign and its potential in helping us reflect upon our political choices in the approaching Federal Election of 2025 as an important expression of our social faith in action.
