As the decade draws to a close, CPJ reflects on 10 years of faithful advocacy on poverty eradication, ecological justice, and refugee rights.

Today, CPJ joined Climate Action Network Canada and 29 other organizations from across Canada in writing to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. As he prepares to form a new cabinet, we called on him to put in places mechanisms to meet stronger climate targets that would limit warming to 1.5°.

CPJ believes that there is a special role for faith communities in the task of helping to build unity.

During the 2019 federal election campaign, CPJ hosted events to discuss key issues in this facing Canada including domestic poverty, climate change, and refugee rights.  

This fall, CPJ has participated in the climate strikes, brought on several new interns and staff, and launched a new podcast!

Canada’s largest anti-poverty campaign joins the worldwide movement on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

On Friday, September 27, 2019, CPJ is joining Global Climate Strike activities across Canada. Strikes will take place in at least 160 Canadian communities in every province and territory in a massive outpouring of support for bold, far-reaching climate action.

Ahead of the 2019 federal election, Citizens for Public Justice (CPJ) will be hosting a series of free, non-partisan events across Canada aimed at equipping voters to engage in the political process in a meaningful way.

For the past decade, Citizens for Public Justice (CPJ) and the Dignity for All campaign have called for a national anti-poverty strategy for Canada that is comprehensive, rights-based, legislated and fully funded.
