The Safe Third Country Agreement hurts refugees. Canada needs to ditch it.

We at STAND Canada, a youth-led anti-genocide organization, have been hard at work with #Stand4Migrants, a campaign that includes fighting the STCA.

As part of the campaign, our 30-page collaborative research report with Citizens for Public Justice and STAND USA highlights how major differences between Canadian and American systems to determine refugees creates differences in the way asylum-seekers are treated in both countries. A panel discussion raised further important questions about whom the STCA really benefits, and whether the U.S. has truly been a safe country.
