Internship opportunities with CPJ

Engaging youth is a key component of CPJ’s work. As part of this, CPJ offers three different internship opportunities. All of CPJ’s internship opportunities strive to provide occasions for young people to directly experience the life of a public policy organization. This means engaging in the work of CPJ, but also as much as possible the community of CPJ supporters.

CPJ's public justice internship program is a one-year paid position that engages recent graduates in public policy work. The intern assists senior staff and is actively engaged in a variety of work, including research, policy analysis, framing public policy options, presenting to Parliament, meeting with MPs and political staff, as well as engaging the media, leaders in society, CPJ members and the Canadian public.

CPJ often offers a summer internship (subject to government funding) that engages students for approximately 6 weeks in the summer. Please watch our website and JusticE-News for announcements about the availability of this internship.

CPJ also welcomes inquiries for internships from those who are part of academic programs at, for example, St. Paul’s University, Trinity Western University’s Laurentian Leadership Centre, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. If your program includes an internship component and you wish to intern with CPJ, please email us at cpj@cpj.ca to arrange a discussion with a staff person.
