Faith Communities in Canada Speak Out

By Citizens for Public Justice

On Promoting Climate Justice and Ending Poverty in Canada

In conjunction with the United Nations Sustainable Development summit, Canadian faith leaders have called for climate justice in Canada—for all Canadians, and for the world. Together they have endorsed the statement “On Promoting Climate Justice and Ending Poverty in Canada” [En Français] that addresses ecological justice and poverty in Canada.

The Canadian Council of Churches (CCC) coordinated this statement and welcomes leaders of faith communities and faith-based organizations to speak out and endorse the statement. For more information on how to endorse, please contact CCC Deputy General Secretary Peter Noteboom.

The statement includes 64 signatories, including Citizens for Public Justice. CPJ is an affiliate member of the CCC and helped to draft the declaration. In addition to various Canadian Christian leaders, signatories include Sikh and Buddhist leaders as well.
