Public Statements:
When refugees come to Canada, MCC is there to help with programs that:
- Promote refugee sponsorship and support churches through the process (learn more about refugee sponsorship)
- Inform Canadians about refugee policies and advocate for fair legislation
- Provide refugee claimants with legal support and help with settlement into new cities
- Encourage churches to provide migrant workers with spiritual and practical support
MCC also does long-term development, working to solve the root causes of conflict and reduce the number of people becoming refugees.
Today, there are more people displaced than at any other time since World War II. Canadian churches have a unique opportunity to respond through private refugee sponsorship.
