Congratulations to CPJ’s Executive Director Joe Gunn, who was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in December. This honour recognizes citizens who have given outstanding service to their community and to Canada.
Joe, who said that the award came as a welcome surprise, was thankful that public justice initiatives of people of faith were being acknowledged in this way. “CPJ is humbled and honoured to think that our work to assist and enable faith communities to address ecological justice and climate change has been noted and appreciated. This kind recognition gives all our members and supporters strength and encouragement for our future efforts towards the realization of public justice.”
We also wish to congratulate our Board member John Murphy of Canning, Nova Scotia, who has received the same recognition.
