Ottawa – Faithful Election Conversations

All Saints’ Anglican Church in Westboro, First United Church, and Citizens for Public Justice invited community members to come together for shared learning and conversation. The event included table group discussions and was led by Scott Cooper, CPJ’s Communications & Public Engagement Specialist, and Rev. Chung Yan Lam from All Saints Westboro Anglican Church.

The event explored questions such as:

• How might our faith shape the way we engage in public life, particularly as we approach the next federal election?
• What could the vision of all people and all creation flourishing together look like in our communities and in Canada, and how could we bring that vision to life?

Together, participants explored prevalent narratives and relevant evidence around key election issues and political engagement in general, considering how people of faith could work together for justice and mutual flourishing. This in-person event provided an opportunity to engage in thought-provoking conversations with fellow community members.
