An Update on CPJ’s 2020/2021 Public Justice Internship

Every year, when we announce our Public Justice Internship program, we receive many inspiring applications from across Canada. This year was no different. The passion for public justice among young people is always inspiring to me.

As CPJ responds to the COVID-19 crisis, we were forced to make the difficult decision to put the Public Justice Internship on hold for the coming year. This was not easy, and we apologize for the disappointment this must be for all the applicants. I too am very disappointed. Working with student leaders is one of the strengths of CPJ. The COVID-19 crisis has caused widespread disruption to business as usual for people and organizations around the world. For CPJ, this means needing to work with a reduced budget for the coming year.

And so, we are not moving ahead with the hiring process for this internship at this time. If circumstances permit us to pick this up at a later date, perhaps an internship for several months instead of one year, we will contact all applicants to determine if they would like to reactivate their applications.

We thank all of them for their passion for public justice. We hope that there will be more opportunities for us to connect in the future.

  1. Hi,
I am a 4th year Psychology student at the University of British Columbia who is very interested in applying for an internship or volunteer position with CPJ. I understand that the summer internship program was cancelled, but was wondering if you had any positions available for the upcoming fall?

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,Monique Guevara
